Polish parking garages last longer and look better than ever

The importance of coating concrete floors in parking garages has long been a talking point in Poland, as coated concrete flooring provides good protection against chemical and mechanical stress.

As a result, Tikkurila’s Polish subsidiary Tikkurila Coatings Sp. zo.o, sold enough Temafloor products in Poland in 2008 to coat almost 70,000 sq m of parking lot flooring. Temafloor products are suitable for coating floor surfaces in office buildings, department stores and upmarket homes.

Temafloor products are also applied to parking lot flooring that has already been used for years without pre-treatment. If it is planned properly and treated carefully, concrete flooring in parking garages can be made to last. Before starting work, the condition of the floor should be carefully examined to determine how to repair possible damage and remove dirt, oil, chemicals, and other impurities.

At the planning stage, it is important to consider the location (indoors or outdoors?), traffic volume, structural features of the garage and its different sections such as ramps, aisles and parking spaces, and not forgetting the available budget.
